We are interested in having an event at White Oak Savanna.  How do we get started?

First, please contact us so that we may confirm we can meet your needs for the number of people, available dates and the services you require. We look forward to speaking with you!

How many guests can you fit?

We can accommodate over 300 people for seated events, including 200 in the Lloyd Jones Barn Pavilion and an additional 100 or more in adjacent tents. If you anticipate more than 300 guests, we will gladly work with you to create appropriate spaces.

Are there outdoor settings for ceremony or receptions?

Yes. We have many truly beautiful options such as the Pond Amphitheater, the Savanna Sanctuary and the Sundial Amphitheater. Each site can be tailored to your specific event. Please visit our Weddings and Meetings/Events pages for details. 

What is included in the rental fee?

There are many things included, such as the use of our handmade tables, use of the full property, dressing rooms and the Bluestem Kitchen Complex. Please contact us and we will be happy to provide complete details.

 Can I bring my own caterer?

You may choose from Dan Fox’s Heritage Catering, Underground Catering, Enos Farms, Blue Plate and Food Fight as well as several others. These talented professional caterers offer a broad spectrum of styles and culinary choices. We will also consider requests to bring in your own caterer so long as they are of the highest quality and agree to follow White Oak Savanna’s environmental and sustainability practices.

What are our beverage options?

You may choose among a variety of packages for wine, beer and hard cider, in addition to non-alcoholic options. We can prepare specialty cocktails.

Can we bring our own alcohol, wine, beer or cider?

No outside alcohol is allowed.

Can we stay on the property?

Yes.  We have three options:

  1. The well-appointed and beautifully decorated four-bedroom, two-bath Norwegian Hollow Farmhouse
  2. The romantic Driftless Cottage and;
  3. Coming soon: camping and RV sites at our Orchard Spring Campgrounds

Is there bus or shuttle service available from and to the Farm?

Yes. To help you and your group get around, White Oak Savanna can refer you to outside shuttle and bus services. Click here for additional transportation links.

What can our guests do in the area?

The Driftless Area has many natural and cultural attractions, including Governor Dodge State Park, Cave of the Mounds, American Players Theatre, Taliesin and the Frank Lloyd Wright sites, and the Wisconsin River.  For additional information go to the Plan Your Visit page.

How close is White Oak Savanna to major cities?

Not too close; not too far: 45 minutes from Madison, 2 hours from Milwaukee and 3 hours from Chicago.

Can we have our rehearsal dinner at the Farm?

Yes, if you have rented the entire weekend. There are additional staffing fees for a rehearsal dinner.

Is White Oak Savanna available year-round?

The Lloyd Jones Barn Pavilion is open Mid-May through October, but the state-of-the-art Bluestem Kitchen Complex, Norwegian Hollow Farmhouse and Driftless Cottage are available year-round.

Is the Barn heated?

No, but we can add tents adjacent to the barn or on other sites that are heated.
